“Since our conference theme is centered around the arts, Abrakadoodle is the recipient of a monetary donation of over $500 and a wide variety of art supplies,” said Ashley Woodard, current president of VACRAO. She added, “Every year, the Registrars and Admissions compete, and I’m sad to announce the Registrars have won in donating the most items.”
Abrakadoodle of Norfolk and Virginia Beach currently provides art programs through a partnership with the Barrier Islands Center in offering both First Field Trips to the preschool classes of Northampton County Public Schools, as well as art lessons for groups of migrant workers’ children of the Eastern Shore. Abrakadoodle also works with the Hope House Foundation seasonally to offer children’s art activities during spring and fall at the Stockley Gardens Arts Festival.
“We are so grateful for this acknowledgement of our art education efforts,” remarked Emily Porter, Education Director of Abrakadoodle of Norfolk, Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore. “We have exciting plans in store for this very generous donation and look forward to enhancing the lives of children with art experiences that ignite their imaginations and fosters new skills, creativity development and confidence.”
